As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for their trip to Flordia for their Week 2 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, all eyes are on the playing status of tight end Travis Kelce and defensive tackle Chris Jones. While we won’t completely know until we get a little further into the week, head coach Andy Reid gave some insight on Kelce before practice began.

“He’s going to go out to practice and do that,” Reid told reporters Wednesday morning. “He’s made progress. Again, just taking those guys day-by-day, see how they’re doing.”

The Chiefs released their first injury report after practice came to an end this afternoon and revealed both Kelce and Jones were limited in practice, as was cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (knee). The only player for Kansas City that did not practice was running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who’s currently out with an illness.

Kelce was seen running around at practice today but is still taking on a light workload after suffering a bone bruise from hyper-extending his knee last week, which kept him sidelined in the Chiefs’ season opener against the Detroit Lions. Meanwhile, Jones is slowly getting worked back into football shape after staying away from the club all summer during his holdout.

Jones was asked if he’d be ready in time for the Jags on Sunday, to which, Jones couldn’t give a clear time frame.

“I don’t know,” chuckled Jones. “We’ll find out [Wednesday], right?”
