Injury Report: Chiefs say TE Travis Kelce is QUESTIONABLE

The Kansas City Chiefs released their final injury report on Friday afternoon, leading up to their Week 2 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, slated for Sunday, September 17 at noon CDT. This week, all eyes have been on the availability status of tight end Travis Kelce and defensive tackle Chris Jones.

Kelce did not suit up for Kansas City last week after hyper-extending his knee in practice two days before the Chiefs kicked off the NFL season against the Detroit Lions. Meanwhile, Chris Jones was absent for more than two months during his holdout for a new contract, which was resolved earlier this week.

Head Coach Andy Reid took to the podium on Friday and told reporters there’s a decent chance the Chiefs will have Kelce and Jones at their disposal this weekend as long as nothing crazy happens over the 48 hours.

“They did a good job,” said head coach Andy Reid of the two key players. “As long as nothing happens, they’ll be out there.”

According to the updated injury report, Kelce is officially listed as QUESTIONABLE after taking on a limited workload in practice this week. Jones was also limited this week, likely to ease him back into football shape after being away from the team for an extended amount of time.

Other Notes:

Linebacker Nick Bolton did not report to practice on Friday for personal reasons. He should be on the field on Sunday.

L’Jarius Sneed was limited all week, but that appears to be just a precautionary as he continues to work his way back from the knee injury he suffered during training camp. Sneed has been cleared to play against the Jags, however.

Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has fought an illness this week. He did not practice on Wednesday but did return in full on Thursday. He did not practice on Friday and is deemed QUESTIONABLE for Sunday.
