Ty Law

Regarded as one of the most dynamic corners ever to take the field, Ty Law was everything a coach could imagine a defensive back could be. Law had all the intangibles that made him successful at the position: speed, vision, instincts, and some of the best coverage skills ever displayed on the gridiron.

Over his three seasons at the University of Michigan (1992-1994), Law earned First-Team All-American honors following each season. He was a two-time All-Big 10 selection before becoming a first-round pick in the 1995 NFL Draft. Law was the 24th player taken in that year’s draft and quickly became one of the defensive centerpieces that helped build one of the greatest NFL empires known as the New England Patriots dynasty.

Law spent ten seasons with the Patriots (1995-2004), where he helped lead his team to five AFC East Championships, four AFC Championships, and three Super Bowl victories, and was a four-time Pro Bowler. During his time in New England, Law amassed 537 tackles and 36 intercepted, making him one of the greatest Patriot legends in club history.

In 2005, Law was left to test the open market and signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets, where he made the Pro Bowl for the third consecutive season after finishing the season with a career-high ten interceptions.

In 2006, Law signed a two-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs to complement an already aging roster. Despite not making the Pro Bowl, Law did help the Chiefs end a two-year Playoff drought after his first year with the team. Everything went downhill the following year as Kansas City spiraled to a 4-12 record in 2007. Law recorded 103 tackles and six interceptions during his time with Kansas City.

In 2008, Law returned to the Jets before spending his final season with Denver Broncos, where he retired following the 2009 season.

After 15 seasons in the NFL, Law accounted for 845 tackles and 53 interceptions and is a three-time Super Bowl Champion. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2019.
