After losing wide receiver Skyy Moore for the season, the Kansas City Chiefs have signed a wide receiver to their practice team according to the NFL’s transaction report.

On Wednesday, Kansas City signed journeyman wide receiver Anthony Miller to the practice squad. Miller was a former second-round pick by the Chicago Bears in 2018. The product from Memphis played under Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy when he was the head coach for the Bears until the 2020 campaign.

In three seasons, Miller caught 134 passes for 1,564 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Bears before he was traded by the team to the Houston Texans in 2021. There, he appeared in two games before he was released on October 6, 2021.

Six days later, Miller was signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad and was elevated to the active roster the following month. He signed a futures/reserve contract with Pittsburgh going into 2022. However, he’d suffered a shoulder injury during the preseason that derailed his 2022 campaign, landing him on the Steelers’ IR list. In January 2023, Miller signed a one-year extension with the Steelers but was released from the team the following summer.

On August 22, 2023, he signed with the San Francisco 49ers but was waived only a few days later.

On October 11, he signed with the Indianapolis Colts practice team but got waived six days later. Now, he joins the Chiefs, where he hopes to stay longer than just a few days. Considering that Kansas City is in dire need of receiver help, Miller may finally have the opportunity he’s been looking for to get his career back on track.
