Saturday’s win over the Miami Dolphins put Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in an elite position to end the season as one of the best postseason signal-callers in NFL history. Kansas City’s 26-7 win over the Dolphins earned Mahomes his 12th career win in the playoffs. Comfortably putting him in 5th place with 12.

Although the Chiefs don’t know who they’ll face in the Divisional round, if Kansas City moves onto the AFC Championship game, that would tie him with Ben Roethlisberger and Brett Farve at 13.

Say the Chiefs move onto their fourth Super Bowl appearance in five seasons, and Mahomes moves on and ties with John Elway, Peyton Manning, and Terry Bradshaw for third place with 14 postseason victories.

Finally, if Mahomes raises his third Lombardi trophy, not only would it solidify Kansas City’s dynasty, but it’d also leave the All-Pro QB all alone in second place with 15 career playoff wins. Leaving only Tom Brady (35) and Joe Montana (16) would be ahead of him.

Mahomes is already among the best from all the other passing accolades he’s tallied in his six years in the league. But while stats are fun to look at, what matters is how you do in games that matter the most.

Mahomes is building a track record for being one of the best postseason quarterbacks, which is a strong talking point for putting him in the GOAT conversation. The 2-time Super Bowl MVP currently awaits the winner of the Steelers-Bills matchup set to kick off at 3:30 CT on Monday afternoon. The Chiefs will host the Houston Texans if Pittsburgh pulls off the upset. They’ll travel to Buffalo if Josh Allen and the Bills take care of business, however.
