Around this time during the NFL offseason, the folks at Pro Football Focus released their annual “Top 25 Under 25” list, which shines the spotlight on younger players that have bright futures ahead of them based on the previous season. Earlier this week, the crew released the 2022 edition of the list, which features Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey.

Humphrey was nothing short of sensational for the Chiefs during his rookie campaign, starting every game and earning the best grade from PFF out of any center in the NFL since 2017. The former Oklahoma Sooner did a remarkable job being the anchor in the middle of Kansas City’s rehauled offensive line and checked in at No. 16 in PFF’s ranking.

This is what PFF had to say about the OU product:

“Humphrey’s rookie campaign was sensational. He played the most snaps of any rookie offensive lineman (1,184) and notched the best grade (91.4). In fact, his elite overall grade was fourth-highest for all offensive linemen and first among all centers. He and fellow rookie Trey Smith were a big reason the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive line was as improved as it was in 2021.”

Creed Humphrey Lands on Pro Football Focus' Midseason All-Pro Team

There’s no question Humphrey was the steal of the entire draft last year when he fell to Kansas City at the 63rd overall pick. The 22-year-old center was named the 2021 Rookie of the Year by the Senior Bowl last month, and ESPN recently published a re-do of the 2021 draft class, which had Humphrey going 20th overall to the New York Giants.

As great as he was for the Chiefs in 2021, Humphrey has only scratched the surface of his potential and will have many great years ahead of him.
