The injury bug is showing it is alive and well at Chiefs training camp and is showing no bounds following an injury to another one of Kansas City’s defensive backs.

Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid reported cornerback Keith Reaser will be put on the team’s injured reserve list following Day 3 of Training Camp. Reaser suffered a torn Achilles in Monday’s practice and will sit out for the rest of the 2019 campaign.

Reaser signed with Kansas City back in April to help improve a secondary that struggled greatly in 2018. He spent time with the Chiefs at the beginning of that season but failed to make the team.

Reaser spent his 2018 season with the Orlando Apollos of the short-lived Alliance of American Football where he impressed many NFL teams including the Chiefs who decided to bring him back.

Unfortunately, Reaser is will have to wait another year to show the coaches he deserves to be on the final roster.

The injury also puts the Chiefs in a tough position, as the defensive backfield gets even thinner. Other defensive backs including Armani Watts, Bashaud Breeland, and Jordan Lucas all suffered minor injuries over the weekend and the injury to Reaser could mean a roster move is in order.

Reaser is the fifth Chief to suffer an injury during training camp thus far.
