The Kansas City Chiefs’ 2021 campaign isn’t over just yet as the team embarks on what they hope will be a third consecutive run to the Super Bowl.

But that won’t stop us from peaking ahead at the 2022 slate of opponents that will take on Patrick Mahomes and the gang next fall.

Keep in mind that the NFL won’t reveal dates and times until sometime later this spring. Only the teams Kansas City will play are currently known.

Upon first glance, the Chiefs 2022 schedule appears to have a fair share of challenging games both at home and on the road. They’ll be up against eight teams attending the playoffs this year and only four clubs that finished below the .500 mark.

Marquee matchups for the Chiefs in 2022 include a rematch of Super Bowl 55 between Patrick Mahomes and future HOF QB Tom Brady, Jags QB Trevor Lawrence coming to Arrowhead Stadium for the first time in his career, and the Chiefs and Rams squaring off for the first time the epic Monday night game from 2018.

Something to consider is that all NFL teams will play an international game over the next eight seasons. The league said they’ll attempt to schedule games in global markets where teams have marketing rights. Kansas City was amongst teams recently given international marketing rights to Germany and Mexico.

The clubs, who the Chiefs play, that also share the German and Mexican markets are:

Cardinals (Mexico)

Broncos (Mexico)

Texans (Mexico)

Raiders (Mexico)

Rams (Mexico)

49ers (Mexico)

Buccaneers (Germany)

This leaves a possible chance for the Chiefs to play outside the U.S. as soon as next season. The last time Kansas City played an international game was when the team traveled to Mexico City to play the Chargers in 2019 at Estadio Azteca.
