Chiefs tease the return of all-white uniforms

To this day, the Kansas City Chiefs have worn a classic, clean-cut uniform that has stood the test of time. While multiple other clubs in the NFL have switched up their look multiple times over the years, the Chiefs are one of the few that refuse to budge from their traditional look.

The most ‘crazy’ the Chiefs have ever gotten with their uniform was when the team debuted the red-on-red combo in 2013. But one uniform combination that has slipped through the cracks in recent years, is Kansas City’s classic white-on-whites.

Well, the team teased the return of those exact uniforms on their social media accounts Thursday.

The last time the all-whites made it onto the NFL gridiron was back in 2018 when the Chiefs traveled to Los Angeles to play the Rams. Since then, they’ve been shelved and somewhat forgotten.

Many teams are naturally going to begin the process to bring back classic throwback uniforms, especially since the league has approved the new helmet rule that will allow teams to wear alternate helmets if they want.

However, likely, Kansas City isn’t one of those teams. The Chiefs have never been one for theatrics which is probably why they’ve remained loyal to the same uniform since the club’s inauguration in 1960.

After all, even if Kansas City wanted to debut a throwback helmet, all they’d really need to do is swap out the decals. Something they could theoretically do this season.

Nonetheless, Kansas City’s all-white uniforms are a throwback in a way that pays tribute to the Marty Schottenheimer teams of the 1990s and the early AFL teams of the 1960s.

Their return would definitely be something that the majority of fans would approve of.
